The Lean Six Sigma White Belt certification has been developed exclusively for the Management and Strategy Institute and designed to give the student a brief overview of Six Sigma and Lean principles. This program will cover exactly what Six Sigma is and why it is being used in businesses around the world to streamline operations and eliminate waste.
When a process is operating at a 6 sigma level, it means that the process must not produce more than 3.4 defects per million opportunities. To achieve this level of operational excellence requires organizations to adhere to strict process controls. A Six Sigma project uses a 5-step process called the DMAIC method to evaluate and improve processes within an organization. This stands for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control.
Six Sigma uses a series of “belts” to help differentiate the different roles that people will undertake during a project. These belts range from White to Master Black Belt. No, this Six Sigma White Belt training and certification program was designed for someone with no Six Sigma knowledge or experience. It includes all of the course work required to study for and pass the final exam.
The White Belt certification is an entry-level certification. The exam is open-note, however it is also timed with a limit of 30 minutes. You will not have much time to look up answers to questions. It is very important that you study and understand the material prior to taking the certification exam.
The White Belt training includes one short training video and approximately 35 pages of reading. It is designed to take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to complete.
